I couldn't tell from the description how it's different than any of the others (Dry quer). Many of them have a similar ingredient profile and there's little information from the manufacturer on what distinguishes them from one another or what might make a particular one unique.

I wish they sold smaller quantities of the Drucquer lines or a sample pack of all of them. (I know, the deeming regs ruined life.) Blairgowrie was exquisite. I am not sure about committing that much to an English blend without Turkish leaf.

Anything made by Pease can't be bad.
You know, when I read the release I felt this product was somehow a little ... "out of the usual" for Greg Pease. Did he make this?

Might just be an editorial mistake, or that Greg developed but didn't (conspicuously) write the notes for this particular blend, unlike all the others.

Is Drucquer Greg's baby? Or is it now licensed to Cornell and Diehl to develop patriotically themed tobaccos ahead of the 4th of July holiday?

I wonder if it's first of a series?

1. You can smoke anywhere.

2. Has onerous rules about re-selling the tins.

3. If your friend brings you a tin, you're not obligated to keep it in your house.

4. No matter how many tins you buy, your SO can't ask you about them.

Etc.

First Amendment is a winner for me. I am on to my fourth tin of this blend and am loving it. I get a sweet and smooth Assam tea kind of smoke out of this. Has latakia but not overwhelming amount for my taste. Burns perfect right out of the tin with some rubbing out.

I have not committed to the purchase of a tin, but have enjoyed the Drucquer blends I’ve tried so far. That said, a tin of First Amendment was opened and shared at the October meeting of the Low Country Pipe Club - my own observations - and the general consensus was that we enjoyed the smoke, but were looking for “more” flavor. I have a well developed palate over 30+ years of pipe smoking and enjoy mild/nuanced blends, but found myself puffing firmly trying to coax more out of the bowl. C&D manufactured blends are some of my favorite, but rarely do I get my best experience from a freshly opened tin. I’ll have to try it again with a little more breathing time and see if it has more to offer?

one thought: the name makes burning it feel kind of wrong. "hey what are you burning in that pipe?" "oh just the First amendment."
I keep a copy of the Constitution in my backpack (seriously) to make sure it doesn't disappear. The name of the blend is a little annoying for the reasons stated; like naming a movie "Your Mom" (as in what are you seeing this weekend...).

What blends of Drucquer and Sons are decent? What are they known best for? I've been interested in picking some up to try.
