You may have seen something about that cybertruck explosion:

Note particularly:

Now having read that, see here his claims regarding the NJ drones:

I saw one tonight when driving into a city near me. I was on a main road into the city and traffic came to a stop as someone was turning. I saw an airplane heading towards me bank right and turn. It hovered (stopped mid-air) over a parking lot next to a four story building. It was 3-500 ft above the parking lot. It was clearly a drone and not an airplane. It had a headlight search beam and airplane lights on its wings. It was silver grey and had a sloped blacked out windshield. It was shaped like an Odyssey, Quest, Sienna minivan but twice as long and with long wings with slight sweep backwards on either side. It did not have a tail or rutter, the back was squared off. What amazed me was that it just stopped in mid-air over the parking lot and had no visible engines. I watched it for about 1 1/2 minutes until traffic started so if it was taking pictures its got mine. If it held people I estimate it would hold 6-8 comfortably. Scary !

Then I thought of the Eagle 5 1986 Winnebago from Spaceballs:

You'd think they'd train a green beret to recognize an airliner... But then, probably not many of those flying where he's working lol.

I literally snorted coffee out my nose when I read this elsewhere earlier. People are getting crazier and crazier. 😬

Any drone at night with lights, is not a concern.

The owner wants their drone back.:)

There is nothing new, under the sun.

I find history comforting in the macrocosm (even if it gives some precedent for concern in the microcosm):

Livy tells us that a "spectacle of ships gleamed in the sky" just prior to Hannibal's victories in 218 BC. The next year, he says, "round shields were seen in the sky." Then in 173 BC, a "great fleet" again appeared in the sky.

Plutarch tells us that when Lucullus and Mithridates VI were about to clash in 72 BC, "suddenly the sky burst asunder, and a huge, flame-like body was seen to fall between the two armies. In shape it was most like a wine-jar, and in color like molten silver."

Then of course there's Josephus's more well known account of what happened just prior to the destruction of the Temple in AD 70: "a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared: I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds..."

On the nights from March 30 through May 29, 1453, while the Ottomans sacked Constantinople, a light stood over the Hagia Sophia. One eyewitness said, "At the top of the window a great flame went out and surrounded the dome of the church for a long time. Afterwards it flew into the sky. Those who saw the phenomenon became numb and began to mourn and to shout, 'Lord have mercy!'"

In the 17th and 18th centuries there were several related incidents over England. In 1659 there were apparently "warlike troops" with "drums and trumpets" in the sky. Then in 1673 all of Posen claimed to see "brigades clashing above their heads," and in 1716 it was recorded that all over England people saw a battle involving flaming swords being fought in the sky.

This sort of thing may or may not be related to the phantom airships reported throughout the US by thousands in 1896/1897 (some of which involved the pilots claiming to be from Mars).

These historical claims may give us some context in which to consider current claims.

That depends on whose it is and what its purpose is. This was not the typical military drone you see in the movies or on youtube. It was much higher futuristic tech. I was only about 1500 to 2000 feet from it with no obstruction.

They turned on the lights so nobody would accidentally run into the drone.

Think of all the technology drive caused by the protracted Ukraine Russo war.

It’s caused a reversal of tactics not seen since WW1.

Tanks, fighters, and troops are targets.

That tech has to be tried out somewhere peaceful.

That's 5 non-sequitors in a row and I disagree with all of them.

No ... its federal law ... I am in the flight path of 5-6 surrounding airports.

Your making a wrong assumption; if anything we gave them old or existing stuff.
It’s caused a reversal of tactics not seen since WW1.
No it didn't. Its the same as every war.
Tanks, fighters, and troops are targets.
As they were in all other wars.
That tech has to be tried out somewhere peaceful.
Its usually tried out away from populated areas and you are assuming its ours ... I personally do not believe it is based on what I saw.

If they were criminals or aliens they’d not care about federal law.

And tiny Ukraine has a foothold in the Kursk area of Russia that the former Soviet Union, a bona fide superpower, has lost an entire battalion of Russian and North Korean solders, mostly to
drones.

The drones of 2025 are likely as improved as the airplanes of 1945 over 1942.

There are unlimited peacetime commercial and recreational uses for drones.

But they change the calculus of war.

Our eleven super carriers have always been targets.

Now the smallest nation on earth could send more drones against one than we have defensive missiles, which are little, fast drones. And they don’t have to sink it. Kill the mission and the entire carrier group goes away.

From now on, whichever nation has the most and best drones has a great advantage.

Wow. Your absolute refusal to entertain any idea not your own is stunning. I'm guessing you missed the part about China possibly launching drones over our territory. Oh, well .. I wish you well. I am respectfully withdrawing from this engagement.

They could be Chinese, launched from submarines.

If so it’s nice they light them up.:)

None of our aircraft carriers have had a peer to peer engagement really since the Battle of Leyte Gulf. If a Chinese American war breaks out our carriers have to stay out of drone range.

Modern drones are as big of an equalizer as the submarine and torpedo.

Any nation can build a drone, and a fleet of drones.

There no doubt are drones over the east coast.

But if they were nefarious you’d never see them coming.

I’m always open to new ideas.

Why would people who wish us harm light up their drones?

You saw what you saw. I've seen what I've seen. Can't unsee. If the impossible happens right before your eyes, it's no longer impossible.

I had no idea of the capabilities of a $9,000 agricultural drone.

The 50 in the name refers to a 50 kilogram payload. This drone has roughly a 14 gallon spray tank—-not quite. They make a 100 kilogram drone, which would hold the standard 25 gallon ag spray tank and then some.

I own a 2005 Yamaha Rhino side by side that cost $10,000 then, that weighs a thousand pounds and it holds a 25 gallon spray tank.

In twenty more years I’ll be 86.

At that age I’ll want a new drone where I can fly around my farm watching the drone spray fence rows.:)

My grandmother wrote a piece in the Hermatige Index before I was born about a hillbilly encountering a parking meter.

Pa figured out it took coins, and he stayed with the Model T while Ma did the trading so he could feed it again if it went haywire.

Afterwards they had to wait until it ran out, because they’d always been law abiding folks and didn’t want to set no bad example by getting arrested and bringing down shame on the family name.

If she was still alive, Ma and Pa would be certain to have a drone encounter.:)

Here’s what burns me up, or gets my tail bone to ahurting, as she would say.

The major media ought to have the same Google skills as a little boy who grew up where I could see Bug Tussle from my house every morning.

There is a major media industry today that profits off fear, suspicion, and ignorance, to sell “news”.

And too few educated hillbillies like my grandmother to counter them.
