I've read a lot about what folks like to drink, including with a smoke, but does anyone match specific drinks to a specific blend?

I think the right combination can really aid the taste of each, but i've not heard of anyone else doing it intentionally.
Combinations i have found and love so far include; Peterson's Irish Flake and black coffee, Bob's Chocolate Flake and a chocolate milkshake, and Hal O' the Wynd and London Porter.

I'm currently enjoying Squadron Leader and a cup of tea, which certainly makes the list!
Any other favourites?

Well I'm going to mix it up tonight with some 1-Q and 18 year old Glenmorangie scotch. Although most scotches have some sort of peaty smokey flavor, I've always found this exact bottle is very taffy, almost a sugar like, sticky taste. It should go great with the sweet 1-Q. We shall see.

Sounds lovely!
I love a good single malt, but haven't tried combining with a smoke...yet!

I must own up to enjoying on a regular basis a good smokey Isley with a good smokey Latakia, a good match for me at the moment is Lagavulin with Ashtons Artisans Blend.

I like scotch with English blends, seems like the peat and Latakia just mix. I enjoy a nice hoppy pale ale with HOTW.

It sounds likely peaty malts and latakia blends are popular! On my to try list for sure! I love Laphroiag, or Talisker.
romeowood - Thanks for the links!

Sorry if folks feel this thread is a duplicate. I was looking more specifically than what people like to drink, or even drink when smoking. More the specific 'wow' combinations folks have discovered. For example, if i'm going to have a bowl of Bob's Flake, i'll deliberately have a milkshake rather than coffee, which i'd more usually drink.

As I don't drink alcohol, I smoke Davidoff Danish Mixture with turkish cofee, Captain Black Round Taste always with black tea.

In the am I do prefer a good old burley and my cup of black coffee. As my better half tells me I'm just to "pissy to deal with" until I've had it. Guess it's a good thing i wake up hours before her and the kids ha.
I have a Jim Beam Manhattan around 4:30pm when I get home, and I am usually smoking a black cav aro with it. After dinner with my cup of decaf is usually when the english blend comes out. I never really stick with a specific blend (cept for PA in the qm and as my all day smoke) I enjoy the varieties from my little moments. My spouse tends to point and giggle saying "she can always tell what time it is by what I'm smoking/drinking" Guess i get that from my grandpa.

When smoking at home, I usually drink home made Green Tea with ice and slightly sweetened. When smoking elsewhere, I drink what's available.

I'd have to say my absolute favorite that is only available in a winter sampler is Sam Adams' Black and Brew [a black lager mixed with espresso]and my local B&M blend Ben franklin[Black cavendish and chocolate] The chocolate in the lager and smoke compliment each other so well along with the cavendish and the espresso. It's just a great mix,but the Ben Franklin with any dark beer is really good as well

Coke and Black House is a great non alcoholic combination. I have found that Coke also goes well with other blends containing Orientals.....

I can't drink alcohol either, so I go the coffee route...
Black House or Black Kathy with some Southern Pecan dark roast is pure paradise.

For everyone that prefers not to have alcohol I would recommend a good vanilla aro and a fine bottled root beer. It's creepy how well they go together.

Majority of the time, I only drink water when I smoke. I like to taste my tobacco without anything interfering. I don't drink a lot these days but I do ocassionally enjoy a good scotch or burbon with a pipe or cigar.
However, being from Texas, I can also pair a cold Shiner Bock with damn near anything

I just came upon an awesome drink / tobacco combo by accident. When not drinking an adult beverage my pop of choice is rootbeer or dr. pepper. Well tonight on the deck I was drinking a can of rootbeer while smoking a large bowl of blue mountain. Wow what a wonderful taste. Give it a try You won't be disappointed. :puffpipe:
