I only relight if interrupted by something going on at work and have to put the pipe down but the heat of a relight makes the smoke flavorless.
I only get that problem with bics. Anything else matches/zippo/soft flame doesn't seem to have that issue. But that's why I stopped using bics with pipes unless all other options are unavailable.

DGT has worked for me a few times.
I suspect it tastes good because the moisture from the dottle re-hydrates the rest of the bowl after a few hours.

nope never had that happen. What I hate is when the best flavor is the signal that the pipe is nearing the point of unsmokeable dottle. I get that. Kind of like making love. The best part is also the saddest part because it means it's almost over.
That’s about the best analogy ever.

And as Embers said, relights are far too hot, it takes a couple of puffs to settle down again and taste the blend.

Relights are perfectly fine for me, but the char lights, if I'm not careful, can really be a nasty. It's usually when I'm too eager to get lit for the lovely tobacco taste :D

Sounds like you need to strengthen your pelvic floor bro
even if you live 400 years you eventually die. You know what I am saying. And if you're die five seconds after birth or after centuries you're still going to be just as dead. Also no one lives in there so why would they install a floor? If you start seeing windows there, then that's a really bad sign that something has taken up residency there.

here is one thing I do hate. How does the weather know when you're trying a new blend you're super excited to try. Somehow it either gets so windy you are afraid the pipe is going to blow away if you don't hold on tight. Or you get the kind of rains that make you wonder who made God mad and when is the plague of locusts coming. That's one pipe thing I freaking hate.
