Don't see what all the hoopla is about. One time I got into a situation where there was no fresh tobacco available (how is another story). In despiration I took a large ash tray that was full of pipe ash, went into the kitchen, found the tea strainer and went to work. In a short time I had a nice little pile of half burnt dottle from many different blends. I packed my pipe and enjoyed every puff. So, as you can see, some of us don't worry about little things like re-lights. puffy

Not quite the extreme of The Endeavor's crew where they boiled pipes with grass to try to extract some tobacco flavor. (Didn't work), but more extreme than Sherlock merely smoking dottle from the day before.

Ingenuity, Sir!

Puttering around the garage with a pipe going. Got the door open but it’s a bit breezy today. Tried relighting with a match, but went fast so it wouldn’t go out. Got blasted with sulfur. Hate that

When.... My pipe start to have "grrrrr'ing" sound, when.... tobacco stuck in the draught hole, when.... my pipe drop on the floor (so far never happened before, I think I'll be mad sky high if it happens ? )

I, for one, would like to hear the "how" story :)

We were in the process of moving to our new home and I had packed up all my pipe tobacco and it was on the moving truck headed to the new digs. I thought I had left out a pouch to last me the day but couldn't find it. Fortunately my workshop was not packed and the coffee can I used as an ashtray was covered, almost full of ashes, and untouched. Not very exciting, but you asked... puffy
