I do the same as you, but I use one of those mini food choppers to get FVF and some other flakes to a ribbon cut and not shag.I use a coffee grinder on tough, wet flakes. It is the ONLY way I've found to get FVF to burn without relights.

I shove that hay! I find if I roll long ribbons into a wad and stuff it in all at once, like a big knot, I get the best burn. A lot of G&H and Germain's is super stringy.I have problems with extremely long ribbons going down and clogging the airway.
like, do some people just shove that pile of hay down the pipe?
^This gets a big +1Other than plugs I pretty much just stuff it in. Amazing how forgiving tobacco is when it's dry enough and not packed too tight.
Was just thinking today. Shag or very fine shredded tobacco seems to smoke better. Do people shred their tobacco to a finely shredded type? Is so, what do you use to do it?
