I picked up this one recently from Levoy Leatherworks. Tyler was at the LVIPS back in October and I got to meet him, really good guy. My show budget ran out when I made it to his table, so I recently ordered this off his website ( www.levoysleathers.com ) .

I also have him working on a custom order of holders for some 8deco tampers I have. Excited to see those once they’re finished!

I do, and it is a real blessing. Mine has metal snaps at each corner, so when am loading my pipe I will leave one corner undone and use it to cleanly place errant strands of tobacco back in its jar. Best $10 I spent.

I got one and found it very helpful. It prevents spills and makes it easy to return errant tobacco to its jar.

Never really found the need. A paper towel is fine if I've got one handy but I can always just fill from a bag, tin, or jar.

Embers has it right. A bit of spillage ain't gonna break the bank. The cleaning lady can handle any mess.

I've been using a large sterlite mixing bowl with a lid for my loading center. I use it to mix, dry, and store and it sits on my 'kitchen' table. Most of my tobacco is stored in a large Igloo cooler in its original bulk bag. Tins I keep displayed. I don't have a lot of tinned tobacco just now.

I used a folded page from a vauen pipe catalogue that came in a TAD order. It seems to do the trick just fine for me.

I'm a fan of the caddie. It has areas for a tablet or phone, mason jar, cup for pipe cleaners, and a prep station with a slot to help clear the dust out.

I don't have a drying or prepping tray... I generally just scoop from whatever jar/pouch the tobacco is stored in or use old tin tops to dry prepare leaf when needed. For me, it does the trick.

I have one similar to the OP - not so much to save tobacco but to keep things a little neater if filling a pipe in the house. Without it, if I fill a pipe or two on the countertop inevitably there will be bits of tobacco here or there I miss that inevitably I’ll just sweep off the counter with my hand, haha, and at some point, “Could you please get that off the floor?” (She’s always ultra polite, lol).

In the garage, I just make a mess and there’s always the Shop Vac.

A wooden tray for only 5 euros, which I bought in the north of Spain. I like it, because the tobacco dries well, and also I love wood for decoration, etc ......

I've had this fiberglass one for about 6 years. It's been through a lot. It even survived being run over by a car a few months ago- it carries some scars to show for it.
I got it from a Montessori supply site. Nice selection and terrific prices..
