Do You Have a Pipe "Brand"?

John Redman pipes don't disappoint, I find. And Leeds-era Ben Wades are fine, well-built pipes as well.

By looking at my collection one would say I’m a Peterson man.
I am, ha ha, but it’s not “my brand”. I absolutely love my Peterson’s but they’re not my favorites.
My favorite pipes in my collection are Tom Eltang or Neerup.

Love my Savinelli pipes, but have many other brands I enjoy.

This is an observation not a criticism, but after all the bitter complaints about Peterson quality issues, which I have no reason to disbelieve, it's interesting how often Peterson shows up as favored pipes. I love my Petes and am lucky in not having had any problem Petersons. I think their designs are both distinctive and extremely attractive, so they have weathered the problems with quality. I like the (apparently not wildly popular) bent brandy B11 so much I have two. I really enjoy the Around the World series bulldog pipe commemorating Ireland, my St. Patrick's Day pipe despite its red stain. I have a number more. I hope Peterson is back on track with strong quality control. They have certainly done well by me for years running.

Mso489;I do agree with you in this,and hope they do enforce strongly their quality control further on,I have a reason to believe they are in right direction right now again,nonetheless,If one would ask me,can I recommend Peterson for a brand new pipesmokers,then I probably wouldn't,in my book It might be advisable if one had some previous experience in pipes(obviously excluding Corn Cobs)before acquiring any newer Peterson pipe,this my opinion is objective and is solely based on my own experience,referring here to aforementioned quality control issues,

Yeah, mso, I suppose if I had had the sort of quality problems some have had with Peterson I wouldn't be so high on them. But, as I've had nothing but good luck with them, they remain my favorite brand.

Just now smoking my Peterson Rosslare Royal Irish model 6 billiard,(pretty much similar to model 107) no complains other than this seems to be quite a heavyweight pipe as its often the case with Peterson models,
