Do You Clench your Pipe?

I am curious about this, do you guys bite your pipe? If you do, which side of your mouth you bite and hold your pipe? I can only bite it on my right side, I think something wrong with my teeth on my left side, i can't bite and hold the pipe on my left side ?

No biting, usually. A gentle clench, jaw at rest holds the pipe well except during strenuous activity, chainsawing and the like.

I am constantly changing where I hold my pipe at my dentists request. He is a pipesmoker too. He had stories of people who hold their pipe in the same spot all the time.

I wouldn't call how I hold my pipe a "bite" but a clench. I don't have to hold so tight that marks are made, just tight enough to keep it from wagging around as I walk or work.

OK. However, I always hold it with my right hand. As my colleagues say very well, just a slight squeeze to leave your hands free, but without damaging them, although I use rubber toes.

When smoke constantly hits the same spot in your mouth, pending what part the smoke hits, you can either develop a tumor where the smoke hits, or the skin can start to recede from your teeth. Where ever it hits, if you don't change it up, mouth cancer can be the result.

Takes a bit of concentrating at first and you are pretty much limited as to how pressure is needed by your jaw construction and where your teeth "fit" the bit.

I try to change sides for health issues as well, but I always end up clenching in the right side. It seems to be more comfortable for any reason, but what you say is not to ignore.
