I use a Mac every day for work and I have to say I'm not too fond of them. They work so hard to be user friendly that you can't actually make them do what you want. If you are one who does internet, email, office tasks they are great. If you like a good music/video suite built in, also great. If you want them to do anything else...good luck. If you want the settings to be different and stay different, too bad. The thing that really bugs me, really a small detail, is that unlike my PCs, they take several seconds to spool up a CD if you've taken any pause time between songs. In a school situation, 2 seconds can be the difference between a happy class and chaos.
As for Windows 8. I follow the windows rule of OS suckiness. Every other OS sucks. XP was great and Vista sucked, Windows 7 was great so W8 will most likely be the next Windows 2000.
