I couldn't find any info on the current Dunhill date codes, but sure, it's quite possible.
In which case the Dunhill would be August 9, 2011. But I, too, am not sure they have codes.

It would make sense that Dunhill would have a code if the Escudo has a code. What are the odds that they both have those sets of numbers on their tins and one is and one isn't? I think we have just made a crucial discovery that could turn the pipe world on it's head. lol

If it is true, then I want to be known as the guy who discovered the Dunhill code, maybe I can get a bronze statue made of me holding a Dunhill tin.
I really do amuse myself at times. lol

 But in all seriousness, if that is the correct way to date the Escudo tin I can only imagine the Dunhill, like you said, is the same way.

So are we all in agreement, the discovery of the century has just occurred, alert the media, hold the presses, my statue awaits. hehehehe
Seriously though, has anyone actually confirmed that the Escudo code is what it appears to be? Is there confirmation from someone like Leonard or is this wishful thinking on our parts? His last post about the date was a guess of 2004, is he being evasive because he does not want this info getting out? C'mon Leonard, give us the straight dope.

I am with you Roth, it really does make sense they would be the same. Now I have to go back and re date all my tins, I have older stock than I thought. It is funny because a few weeks ago I opened a tin of Escudo that I had dated as June 2012, when I opened it it was way darker than a fresh tin should be and it tasted much rounder than fresh. I just thought I got an aged tin by luck, now I am going back to see what all those tin dates are.

For what it's worth, Harris, if you have A&C tins (like the one in my original post) I'm not sure how they are dated but due to Leonard thinking it is a 2004 tin I would say it is probably XX(MMDDYY)XX.
