I've seen leather chaps, vinyl chaps, naugahyde chaps, but never ones made of tobacco leaf! And, believe it or not, Simon, even in the most country western parts of these United States, you don't have to be wearing chaps to vote.....
Oh, wait, you meant, "No votes in tobacco, chaps!" :)

Those with a stock of Condor must now decide whether to hold it and savor it over time or hold it and sell it at exalted prices and buy (name your coveted pipes).

Oh well, the impacts are coming nearer... 8O I hope that Germany will be spared for a while until they try to get funny with pipe tobacco.
The way to hell is paved with good intention, as they say....

I just ordered a box of long cut from Mr. Snuff - I hope I get it!
It's the only place I could find that sells it.
GQ Tobaccos sells it for a lot cheaper but it doesn't look like they ship to the States now that GQ has a new owner.
I emailed the new owner asking if they would ship to the States but I'm still waiting on the reply.

You all won't be seeing Condor for sale from this guy!

Just thought I would update this, as I thought I did when I got the news about 5 months ago but apparently I didn't.
Condor Plug was temporarily taken off the market to up the size to 30g plugs rather than 25g so that they could fit are larger picture of someone coughing up a lung on the label. It was only taken off the shelf for a short period of time and they ended up keeping it in it's original 25g form. I don't know why the change but that's all I was told from the kind folks at J. Fox.
I wanted to keep this documented here just for reference. You folks that like Condor Plug, have at it while the goings still good. Who knows, if enough people buy it regularly, maybe they'll keep it around for a little while longer.

In the UK (Europe too maybe?) all tobacco (pipe and hand rolling) must be sold in at least 30g packets. The reason is to make the smallest packet a little more expensive and therefore a little harder to buy, especially for young people. For the same reason, cigs can only be sold in 20s and up now, rather than also coming in packets of 10.

Endless manipulation by our moronic overlords...
I second hawky454's comment:

Vote with your wallet whenever you can. Skip those H-wood movies, fast food, dubstep downloads, etc. and instead buy some quality tobacco. Rising sales = it stays; falling sales = it's easier to just give in to decay.

Oh, okay! I didn’t realize that was the reason why but it makes since to me. I wonder why they just put em back up as 25g plugs then? Maybe it was delayed?
Haha, “vote with your wallet”... I like that!

Mike, does that mean the demise of the 50g tin in favour of a 30g tin? I sincerely hope not. Also, what about the 250g bulk boxes, are we to see those disappear?
Hawky, glad you brought this thread back to life...I was searching for it yesterday.
Regards,
Jay.

Hehe... I'm glad you're enjoying it. I was getting worried that I was annoying everyone with all my Condor talk as of late.
Edit* just saw that I misused the word "since" in my post above (should have been "sense"). I really hate that you can't go back and edit these posts. I don't always have time to proof read... embarrassing.

Jay - I don't think it means the demise of 50g - the 30g is just the minimum now. For instance, hand rolling is sold in 30g on up: you can no longer get the old 12.5g packets.

I think Hawky spells pretty good for a 3rd grade education :nana:

I actually dropped out in 2nd grade, bought a pipe and I've been living in the slums ever since. As long as I've got Condor, I'm in heaven, slums or not. I'm happy to know that I appear to have a 3rd grade education though... haha!

A small correction to what I said earlier about EU directives. What I said is indeed the case for cigs and RYO. Pipe tobacco is regarded as 'Other Tobacco Product' and does not have the same rules. So, I suppose the minimum 25g might not apply to pipe tobacco. Having said that, a certain amount of flexibility is built in for EU member states to have their own regulations - but I am not sure what the UK govt has added to the EU directive.
It's all a little bit fuzzy when it comes to pipe tobacco.

Hawky, I don't it's possible to talk about the Mighty Condor too much :worship:
Thanks for the clarification Mike. I suppose we will all have to wait and see what our pathetic glorious leaders have up their collective sleeves. Perhaps they might enlighten us once they stop touching each other's knees and sending dodgy texts to each other
Regards,
Jay.
