I still do both, but I believe the pipe is closer to dip than cigarettes because of the fact that you get nicotine only in the mouth. So I would think it would help.

Dipping is a great money dump. It's about 10 dollars a day on Kodiak, and just a little less on Copenhagen snuff. It's great on a lunch break and after work, but as a regular habit, it's terrible in terms of cost and value.

I have successfully given up dipping in favor of pipe and cigar smoking. For me it was a matter of using nicotine gum to first transition away from dip and then cutting back on the gum until I could go a whole day without nicotine. After breaking the nearly constant need for a supply of nicotine I went back to pipe smoking and have not had any dip for nearly a year and a half. The major bonuses for me (and I stress that these are the reasons I made the decision to stop dipping in favor of pipe smoking and in no way are meant to be a judgement on those who live their life in their own way) are the huge savings, not having to keep a spit bottle around and not being a slave to nicotine.

I switched to the pipe and dipping to get off cigarettes. I smoke the pipe mostly but if I need a bigger nicotine delivery I'll use the dip. I only need the dip about every 2 days because I switched to stronger nicotine pipe blends like C&D's Big & Burley.

And I was thinking snuff are the most economical way of using tobacco product even in America similarly as is it here up in Scandinavian countries, personally I'm not using them, but If I were I would go rater with traditional Chewing tobacco which eventually will ruin users teeth&gums due to high sugar contents,at least I was told so by some more knowledgeable people.

I wasn't very successful with snuff. My sinus problems might have been caused by it, and I only snuffed for a couple of weeks or so. Then again, maybe the problems were lying under and the snuff helped bring them up. Who knows. I still have most of the bag I got early in AD 2015, and my two plastic 'tins' of Bernard Schmalzer. I occasionally take some, but it's not regularly.
I'd also want to keep my pipe to 1-2 bowls a day. In that way, maybe living in a non-smoking building might be more of a boon than a hassle; yet, with the winter coming, smoking outside is gonna be more difficult.

I dipped off and on over the course of two years and never really liked it. Much stronger than the heavy nic pipe blends I smoke. Good for no-smoking environments.

Dipped a can a day of Kodiak Wintergreen years ago when I played baseball in high school and college. Switched to cigarettes for years. I still enjoy a chew occasionally but don't really buy dip anymore unless I'm going on a long plane ride.

I didn't use the pipe to quit dipping as I started the pipe many years after I quit dipping, but I can say this: dipping is much more addictive than pipe smoking. I dipped Copenhagen for a long time and I got to where I was very irritable if I didn't have a dip. I tried quitting a couple times but felt like I was having heart palpations when I would lay down in bed at night. Finally the dip started giving me horribly painful heartburn. Pain is a great motivator, so I put it down forever. The pipe is so much more gentle and less aggressive. I enjoy the pipe but do not feel that I am addicted to it.

I find the pipe much more relaxing, and when I have to do without it I find the cravings to only be like a small rumble instead of the monster that screamed for my attention when I was addiction to the amount of nicotine that Grizzly provided. For the record, I am still addicted to nicotine as I do want at least one pipe full of baccy a day; I am just addicted to a greatly reduced amount.
