Everyone is focused on tips. I enjoy talking about the shitty kids forced on me everywhere we go. If your kid is turning around in their seat and making contact with other people, please drag that shit out of my face... someone, anyone, a parent, staff, management, a bystander... someone.
And, never ask me to hold your baby. Why would anyone think a grown ass man with a beard wreaking of tobacco would want to be anywhere near your slobberdoodle.
Why do you feel that your dining experience has more value than those children's? I'm sure that some children feel similarly about irascible stinky old men with garish ties, should they ask a manager to remove you?

If you tipped better you wouldn’t be seated next to shitty kids.

I'd consider myself a retired waiter. Tips were how I made my living, as restaurants can't really afford the wages (this is UK and Cyprus based experience from some years ago). Having to share tips I earned with feckless staff who sat around all day doing sweet f.a. was intensely annoying and unfair, as they were profiting from my labour, as would the owner if they just forbade tipping and increased the price of the bill.

Personally, I'd happily work in a restaurant for free if I was allowed to keep my own tips, as that was probably the best money I ever made. I was good at it, and people only left me a tip if they had had a good time, which was entirely my responsibility.

Far enough, away enough. Thread is closed.

But first I can say I prefer tipping in the USA and no tipping where that's the custom.

As to the original bill of diner's rights, what a pile of horseshit for most; the rest are expected, de minimus.
No wonder managements "didn't receive it", fax or other!
