I think didi' found the right audience for this feat. Other sites would have yawned, or gotten into a hate battle about abusing the pipe or something. Forums people took it in good faith and enjoyed the journey and celebrate the success. To paraphrase Whitman, I believe it was, great pipe marathons require great audiences.

Well smoked my Grand Duke this morning with CH while reading this thread. Congrats Didi'. I would like to say i smoked it in your honor but i do it everymorning. Thanks for the thread I learned a lot from it and it has changed the way i smoke briar pipes
