Love the ability to take polls. This could be entertaining and a good way to just gauge some general opinions. Which could lead to even more dialogue.

But not to see the reasoning behind the answers or questions that may rise due to them.
But it's a yes or no question! And I suppose then the comments that follow ( such as in this thread) will then give you details.

I haven't used the poll option yet, obviously, but does it give the poll an end time where it automatically closes?

The new site is making us lazy, Embers!

Not me. It takes so much time to load a thread now that I try to type as much as I can to keep revisits to a minimum.

I don't mind an occasional poll. Our local newspaper that I read online has a daily poll. Sometimes the questions are as simple as "Ice Cream - Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry"? Other questions maybe more community based as "Do you believe the city should upgrade the water treatment plant - Yes or No"?

An occasional poll is okay. I just wouldn't want to see 5 new polls every day on the forum.
