Did I Just See a Peterson Christmas 2021?

I don't get this one. Sherlock Holmes series with copper band for Christmas? So.. Do I need to get all 14 of them? I'm thinking someone was running short on ideas. Don't get me wrong, I love SH series. I have all 14 plus some in different finishes. And I know number of others who has all the pipes in the series. I'm sure it will sell, and I might end up getting one. But wanted something different. Maybe Christmas Mark Twain? Or third series of SH?

No clue yet. I'm not in on the detail. But from the pictures, it's impossible to tell other than copper band and fire branded "P".

Up until a few years ago on SPC, the p-lips were in short supply. Must have been a popularity surge.

I'm kind of surprised that this is the Christmas pipe this year. I'm wondering if it's going to cost as much as a standard Holmes pipe. The Christmas pipes are usually cheaper. I've been wanting a few of these shapes, though.

seems more like a pipe of the year. Though I don't really know Irish Christmas too good so. what do I know?

Many pipes on the Laudasi site are MSRP. When they appear on SPC they're often lower.

That’s what I was thinking… their ‘21 Saint Nicholas pipes were/are discounted 20% off MSRP.

Another good look at them on Peterson's Instagram today. I know they're just the Holmes series, but I know I'm getting one.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I wish Peterson would stop drilling their bent pipes with the draught hole at the top of the mortise. I love their shapes. They look rugged. I just can’t deal with a bent pipe that won’t easily pass a cleaner.

I have a 2018 Christmas straight apple Pete and I really enjoy smoking it. Drilled straight of course with everything lined up. I love the big button on the fishtail stem.

Slight correction, there are 18 Sherlock pipes. Sherlock, The Return, and the four Pipes of the “Adventures of..” release.
I agree with you it’s an odd choice for “Christmas”. I’d have preferred a Dickens theme r something akin.

I think they're onto something with the copper band. They've always been around, but with the dark finishes and classic shapes, they look good, and unlike some holiday pipes, they will look good all year. The fishtail bits are a plus for most of us. I have a number of Petes, so I will try to skip past them on the sites.
