I order from these guys: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XJYB7C/ref=s9_simh_se_p121_d0_g121_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=auto-no-results-center-1&pf_rd_r=34EE57C57F3B4447BACC&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_p=1263465782&pf_rd_i=wish4blades
They offer free shipping, they were fast and the order came in on time. The Lord L6 has been given consistently good reviews on Amazon and shave forums, it's a copy of a German Merkur, the difference is in the finish and not the shave. I placed today's order with them.
My morning ritual for those new to DE shaving:
- COLD water, that's right COLD water.

- Proraso (green) shave soap (a very inexpensive but amazingly silky smooth soap is Van Der Hagen Glycerin Shave Soap)

- I have a brush that I've been using for years and the name has worn off, it works well

- 3 passes, with the grain, across the grain and against

- witch hazel

- aftershave (bay rum, clubman, old spice, etc.)
The whole process takes less then 10 min. I save money and my face doesn't turn bright red from irritation.
Below is an article on cold water shaving. It made me give it a try and it works (for me).

PS: I have to say the Tabac is awesome stuff. My wife bought me the cologne for Christmas and it smells like leather, pipe and cigar smoke, very masculine. She really likes it.

Maybe I am too cheap, or just don't know what a good shave is like, but I strech a Mach 3 cartridge for a very very long time. Of course, I only shave my neck. See picture in avatar.

I would like to use one but it seems time consuming. I just trim with an electric razor (fast and cheap).

It can be time consuming, some folks really get into the ritual of it, I don't. My wife encourages me to use a DE because it makes my face baby soft and the all the scents that go along with DE shaving she enjoys.

It was the upkeep on the straight razor that steered me away. It was a little bit before I learned how to use it, though. For the first week I looked like I shaved with a weed eater. A DE razor might be great for me for winter, because I grow my beard out and just have to keep it tidy. When I have to shave all or most of my face, I like the modern razor.

I've been using Proraso in the green tub for the last 6 months and really enjoyed it so tonight I picked up a tub of the white shaving soap with aloe and green tea and some Adidas aftershave.

In the last 12 to 15 years or so I have had a full beard. The other day I finally realized that it.s because I hate shaving.

I grew my beard out for about 5 years because I hated shaving. My wife wanted me to shave it off so I looked around online and found DE shaving. Now I love the ritual of shaving and look forward to it everyday.

www.shaving.ie is the one I look at first. I love the Feather blades. Blades are like pipes, there is not one brand for all. Everyone has his preference. I have 2 DE and 3 straights. Shave my face and head both with either one. Keep the wife's bikini line trimmed with a straight, also.

With DE's it is about experimenting. Some shave soaps will work for you better then others, same with blades as mentioned above, razors are important and even the temp of your water. But once you get it all together...you'll love it. I tried to grow my beard out in Oct. but the DE ruined it for me. The clean, smooth feeling and all, I gave up and shaved it off.
S[single] E[edge] is a different adventure for those who want a razor that shaves more like a str8. I have a 1912 GEM Micromatic, GEM G Bar (early 1950's), STAR and Clog Pruf in the SE line.
I'd be interested in finding a Rolls Razor or an Auto Strop.
A pic of a few of my razors.
