Anybody have an idea for when mounted BBB’s stopped having the L.B mark?
Cheers
I was waiting for the first cheeky comment...I used to date a British bird, but now more into British wood....pipe wood to be exact...root wood not hard wood to be specific...oh dear. That's where I thought we were headed too.
I’m assuming you are old fashioned like me when it comes to mounting?Probably not on the first date.
Yeah I’m in the same boat. I’m assuming it was used up until sometime in the 20s. Either way I’m not too fussed to get an exact date, just a rough ideaI don't know when they stopped using it, but it was registered in 1882.

Cheers for the feedback. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure I have seen the L.B mark on pipes that are dated later than the AF&Co too. Whether there was a transition period between the signatures, or they were used for different reasons I’m not sure.I have just seen a BBB own make 1904 with maker's mark AF&Co. So earlier than I had originally thought.
