It would seem strange as they have the MC 40th and JA Luxury Flake in stock. Possible inventory process going on?
OK...everyone here appears to think that by calling CupOJoes, that I'm doing something wrong.
True. One should always keep in mind: but for the grace of God you could have been born in an Elbonian village. You would have thought the avalanche had covered their village rather than their tobacco delivery had been delayed a week or two.
A company I used to work for had three people who's entire job was to scour all the major social media sites all day and respond to those people spreading FUD (Fear,Uncertainty,Doubt - for the uninitiated). Perhaps, since pipe tobacco enthusiasts seem to be particularly touchy when they can't get that 1792 flake, and they decide to blame CoJ or SmokingPipes on every forum they hold membership to, they should hire "a person" to stop it. Naturally I volunteer, as long as I get first shot at the fresh stock of hard-to-get tins when they come in :DReminds me of my son's business. Weekly someone gets on the forums and thrashes his business, but refuses to actually call or contact him about their concerns.
Colloquially, these are known as "shills," and they also work the other way, spreading propaganda. There are many groups doing this, such as Fancy Bear, ShareBlue, Hasbara, Scientology, etc. They have been doing it for a long time, so it makes sense to be careful in what you read online on susceptible sites like forums, Wikipedia (!!!), product reviews and random blogs.A company I used to work for had three people who's entire job was to scour all the major social media sites all day and respond to those people spreading FUD (Fear,Uncertainty,Doubt - for the uninitiated).
I meant more in the sense of a customer saying they found a security flaw in our product, and these people would reach out to them via social networks to gather that information. Or, frustrated customers having some functional difficulty with our software, we'd reach out and offer to open them a support case. Yes, a lot of it is PR to show customers "we care", also collective-ass-covering. But, lets say you had a problem with a product, and you happen to post a forum thread asking about it(or just complaining), where you listed the vendor. That vendor then posts to the thread that they'd like to work with you to remedy the issue. Is that not good customer service(even if the customer should have just contacted you to begin with)?Colloquially, these are known as "shills," and they also work the other way, spreading propaganda. If you think Yelp is bad, there is an app out there called "Peeple", were you can do the same thing with individuals you meet.
