Cremo Cigars- Anyone Heard of Them?

Has anyone ever heard of or tried Cremo?

Originally started out in New York in 1896 and later acquired and opened in Miami. Don’t see when it opened in Miami… hmm

I’m going to order one of their samplers. This website is seriously impressive, I hope their cigars are nice.

Considering the information on their site, I would have assumed these are long filler and chemical free, high quality. But as for the quality/tastes, which are personal, hard to say how others might enjoy them.

Rhetorically speaking, who’s charging these prices in the cigar industry using additives and short filler… These should be top notch NW Cigars…

P.S. I sent them an email to inquire about the cigar, and also if they might offer lower priced cigars in the future.

Actually it was great you brought all of this up. Actually any grower should be listing they are chemical free and use good long filler. I would think it’s good Sales Marketing, to let people know you produce a quality product…

George Washington Hill (1884 - 1946), the founder of Cremo Cigars, and a former President of the American Tobacco Company, was apparently somewhat of a germophobe, and horrified that most cigars of his day were licked by their hand-rollers to seal their wrappers at their tips. He boasted that Cremo (machine-made) was a sanitary cigar by comparison. They were once promoted by Bing Crosby early in his career.

Incidentally, Mr. Hill presented Mr. Crosby with a terrier dog who the latter named Cremo (imagine that!). The dog may be seen in this image together with Mr. Crosby and his first wife Dixie Lee (whose real maiden name was Wilma Wyatt).

Did you see the site, they are asking for singles at $10-$14, I think bundles were as low as $8…

I wouldn’t think these would be anywhere near those cigars or 5 cents. Unless you’ve smoked all of them, and feel this way.

I have read some reviews online, there aren’t a lot, but none I saw talking like they were this cheap.

I was hoping they had sticks for $4-$5…

I was originally looking for locally rolled cigars in Miami, when I ran across Cremo.

I was about to order a sampler, but the more I think about it, you’re right, there are a lot of great cigars out there in the same price range.

I did send them an email asking various things, one also asking, if they might offer less expensive sticks in the future. Will be interesting to see what they have to say…

The monthly subscription doesn’t look like too bad of deal. 4 cremo robustos plus a “5¢ cigar” for $26. That’s a little more that $5 a cigar. But you’d have to really love cremo to stick with the subscription. There’s options for cigar subscriptions with more variety out there. I’ve been a member of one that is $30 for 4 cigars a month but the variety is outstanding and they throw in cigars that cost way more than the average price per stick here.

A great shop in Miami. I'm still eagerly awaiting the re-release of the Santos de Miami, but it's been several years, so not sure if that's still coming to pass. The La Tradicion Cubana is a phenomenal blend at an affordable price.

If I were in Miami, I would prioritize visiting El Titan de Bronze and wherever Pete Johnson is having some of the Tatuajes rolled in Miami - used to be Garcia's El Rey de los Habanos, but I believe that factory has since closed its doors.

You could also wander Calle Ocho and check out whatever cigar factories are still operating there.

And cigar prices aren't going down anytime soon, except for the coming crash of premium & Havana brands.
