SP and 4Noggins always pack my orders with protective bubble packs/foam.

Tobacco has always arrived in Canada intact.

If the tins arrived open I am sure they will replace. If they arrived perfectly fine... I am not sure as to want issue P&C can fix. Seriously not trying to be a smart ass, in what way was the tobacco damaged? Just trying to understand.

Dervis if you are cellering a lot of tins you have no way to know if knocking around did not break the seal, opening up later you might have a pile of dust you paid for and can"t smoke. I understand where you are comeing from. They did not put anything at all in box just tins, that's a no no when you ship anything , not good business.

Duck I do not expect tins or monetary discount, just want to make them aware of a big problem, if you don"t tell a business about problems it never gets corrected. Was told the hold up on my order was Paypal only sent part of the money, REALLY, checked my account that day of the order and the full amount was credited to P&C, then it was shipped 4 days later not counting Sunday minus 5 tins that they said was on back order , never got a e-mail on that, They really dropped the ball on this order. We"ll see how they explain this.

Hmmm... I find it hard to believe that Paypal only sent PART of the money. That doesn't sound right.
I placed a phone order with P&C yesterday and I never received any emails nor did it show up on "my account" on their website. It did however charge my credit card. The friendly gentlemen also mentioned it would be shipping out that day. Is this typical to receive no communication the day of phone orders? I'm used to receiving a confirmation email when I purchase but usually do it online...

Got an order Thursday and was packaged fine but was large containers. I have a shipment of tins coming Monday and if their not wrapped properly they'll be going back. These are all going into long term cellaring and I won't be looking at them for many years. I'll still use P&C as my main supplier because of H&H mainly, but when I order hundreds of dollars of anything off the Internet I expect it to be packaged properly.

I'd certainly be miffed about that much money in goods not getting properly packed. I received a couple hundred dollars of tobacco from them last week and it was very well packed with bubble wrap and good tape on the outside. In my case I had almost 4 pounds in bulk and that helped hold the tins in place.

I got 3 deliveries from PC last week, one was supposed to have 20 tins, it only had 19 and they never notified me through email that there was a back order. The next order was for 20 packages of pipe cleaners and some tins, they only sent the fluffy cleaners and not the bristled ones, no mention they were out of stock or had to be back ordered. The third box was for 24 tins of Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls and with all three packages they were poorly packed with tins rolling around. I have never had these kinds of issues with PC before the buyout. It is clear to me that CI's way of doing business is not the same as what Pc's used to be. Being lazy about packing tins to protect them is not real smart in my book.

In hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of orders from SP, I have never once had an issue with their packing and I have never received a dented tin, and that's for international shipping. Similarly, in well over 50 orders with 4noggins, I have only received two dented tins in one package that I felt was just not packed up to snuff, but the rest were all well packed. What I don't understand is that it isn't that hard to pack stuff properly, so I'm not sure who P&C has working in their shipping department.

Perhaps all forum members should suspend ordering from them for a month. Perhaps if all members here banded together who normally order there the company might get the message and correct the problem.
Management can always say they will address the issue but nothing speaks louder than a drop in revenue.

I responded to the other thread about this, and I will get some answers to address this case and prevent it from happening in the future.

The PayPal issue is because our current system doesn't communicate well with PayPal, so all PayPal orders are charged in full up front, but that will be corrected in the near future when we institute some changes to the website. If you pay by debit or credit card, you are only charged for what actually ships.

I'm sorry about not responding sooner, but jiminks was right, I was at the CORPS Expo and didn't check the forums at all until just now. I will get some answers about the shipping.

I'm confused???? Are we smoking these tins, or collecting them? Now If its a Peterson Christmas blend that you may collect the tin then I can see it. Maybe I'm the odd one out here, but I'm really getting tired of the P&C bashing lately.

I was not talking about stocking up on tobacco! Call it what you want but who cares if a tin is dented, still smokes the same!!! And to me the the P&C bashing is out of control. I have spent a great deal of funds there also and have had nothing but top notch service!

Thanks Dervis, but you may end up in the penalty box with me for admitting that! And if I am going to place a large order (ex: 50 pounds of 1Q) then I take to 2 minutes give them a call and see if they even have it in. If not I take what I can get. I think some of the issues could be resolved with a simple phone call.

I can't complain about P&C. I ordered from them a few weeks ago, their Peterson Pipe and tobacco deal: Buy a Pete pipe, get a Pete blend and pouch of Erin Go Bragh for free. They contacted me the day I was supposed to receive my order (also bought the McLelland's Christmas Cheer) telling me the pipe wouldn't be in the box, it was backordered. I told them to cancel the pipe then. They credited me for the pipe and I got to keep all three tobaccos for $14. The packaging on my tobacco was also done to my liking: bubble wrapped. I can't complain about P&C.

I've ordered several times from P&C and was very pleased with the prices, customer service, and shipping. But I recently took advantage of their Sutliff sale and ordered 32 tins a couple of weeks ago.
It arrived in a box big enough to fit a small Volkswagon, and it only had 2 air pillows in it for packing. The packaging tape was also loose enough on top that I could stick my hand inside and remove tins without opening the box. I was scared to see the contents as I knew they would be dented, open, missing, etc.
But to my surprise, they "seem" to be okay. I had planned on just cellaring them in the tins, but I don't think I'm going to take the chance now. I think I need to make a run to Walmart for some more Mason jars.
I'm not going to give up on P&C, I've had too many good experiences. But this will definitely be on my radar to see if it becomes a trend.

The reason we buy tins instead of bulk is to usually get tobacco that hasn't dried out. If it is not sealed, it may be dry, and some of us like to store the tins without having to put them in jars (not me, I'm too anal). I think it's just smart to include packing material in anything purchased by anyone. Anyone who doesn't understand this does not have half a brain in their skulls.
Don't mean to call you out or anything, I would personally have jarred them all up as the 1 day shipping distance between me and P&C means the worst packing couldn't dry any blend out and would probably even reduce my drying time. P&C will have my business as long as they remain cheap and have all the blends. As for pipes, I've had so many bad packing experiences I will probably never order another. Their manager of e-commerce downright lied to me saying that a pipe was drilled center and it way WAY off over the phone. For someone like that to not be able to tell is crazy.
