Hope you will be better soon. I came home from California three days ago to find I had COVID. This was my first infection and the symptoms varied from day to day (from fever to cough to sneeze). The damn virus.

Hope you’re on the home stretch since you first posted this. Took me about 2 or 3 weeks after i was over to really be back to 100%. Had 3 days of sick, fever, chills, sleeping almost all of the 72 hours then started to get better but was exhausted and even walking around a little tired me out, lots of early bedtimes but you gotta do what you gotta do, i made it 2 1/2 years with no vaccine and living in the free state of Florida so no heavy mask mandates. Figures i got it going to Texas for a cigar herf and got it from a guy on his 3rd booster ?

I just tested positive 2 days ago. First timer as well. Not jabbed. Stopped drinking regularly and started working out a LOT and really watching my diet about 2 months ago. My 3yo had a bad cough and a slight fever for a few days, she's fine now. I woke up 2 days ago in horrible pain, everything hurt. Unrelenting headache, and fever with chills and profuse sweating. Took a home test the first day and it was negative. Took another one yesterday and it was positive. So I took:
.4mg/kg ivermectin,
1.5g vitamin C,
5000 UI vitamin D3,
100mg Zinc,
And scope mouthwash 3x daily,
With aspirin or acetaminophen as needed.

I woke up this morning (next day) perfectly fine. Did some rounds on the heavy bag, walked a few km, feel great! I've got a lingering and very occasional phlegmy cough. But otherwise I'm feeling awesome! Granted I have no known risk factors, 33yo, not overweight, and fairly active. But those first 2 days were the most sick I've ever been other than a bad staph infection I got yrs ago that became systemic.
Hope the best for you buddy! Wait to smoke till you feel better!
If you can't, at least put some of us in your tobacco will! ?

Most symptoms are gone. But the damned cough is bugging me. Just dry cough out of nowhere. Makes smoking uncomfortable.
Yah if at all possible i would definitely not smoke, i think on day 5 i tried to take a hit and as soon as it was in my lungs they felt “small” like there wasn’t room for the smoke, hard to explain but all it took was that try … ok and maybe 3 others to see if i could powe through, but i gave it up for about a week. Gotta focus on your health and giving it up for a few days just means you’ll be back at it sooner.

Everyone is different i know literally a dozen people that got the anti body test and had them and never knew they were sick (also not jabbed). Definitely a YMMV situation.

Despite me being super careful (and triple jabbed), I managed to cop for Covid last month. Three days of absolute hell then it all seemed to calm down.

However, I've noticed that since my infection I have become even more breathless than before (which was pretty bad due to COPD).

Just moving from my sitting position to the other end of the room has me struggling to breathe. I couldn't 'do' much before, I now find I can 'do' less.....it aint nice I can tell you. A 3 minute trip to the bathroom means I need about 3 minutes to recover!

Regards,

Jay.

Jay,
Sounds like you need to be assessed by a respiratory specialist.
Best wishes for a full recovery from COVID

Finally got it. My younger son, then my wife and I. I broke fever today, but caught isn't helping. Wife and the kid broke fever couple of days ago. Smoking makes me feel like I can't breath. With diabetes, and arthritis, it's not fun. Probably few more days or weeks. This is after vaccine, and the booster.
when I smoked cigs I'd switch to a pipe if I had a flu or cold. But with Covid the pipe was too much and hurt terribly. Yeah getting sick sucks, especially certain types of sick. Best of luck with a speed recovery and all that jazz.

Here's to a speedy recovery.

There's a misapprehension regarding the vaccine and the boosters. They don't prevent Covid, and that's never been claimed, but they statistically have proven to lessen severity significantly, including hospitalization and death. So be happy that you got the shots as it could have been much worse, and get well soon.
Also the misapprehension that it protects those around you.
