You're all a bunch of poor misguided undiscerning tasteless rabble.

If you can listen to songs like Tangled up in Blue or Simple Twist of Fate and come away saying Dylan can't sing or would rather hear someone else sing them, I'm not sure you're worthy even to be pitied.

Want to hear "Always on My Mind" as it was intended. A friend of mine, now, sadly, deceased wrote it. So look up Wayne Carson. He's not the singer Willie is nor, the star Elvis was but, he knew what he wrote and how he wanted it phrased. A writer may not be a commercial level singer but, he does know his vision. The Letter and Soul Deep also come across different than the A&R folks turned out as hits. But, "mailbox money" or, residuals put the food on the table..

Guy Clark and Townes Van Zant are also guys known for mostly for their writing but, they could interpret their stuff in the way they intended. A&R foks want a commercial sound. Writers want to impart feelings, often deep feelings.
