Cornell & Diehl Small Batch Sansepolcro

I've ordered a few tins and am hoping it holds up to past product. Has anyone got this latest batch ? If so what do you think of it. ?

I never did try it before, so I ordered a tin. If I like it, and there’s still some left, I’ll order some more. If it’s gone then oh well.

The Sansepolcro is quite good. I would caution however, don't expect it to shine out of a freshly opened tin. When I originally popped a tin and promptly smoked a bowl, I was very disappointed. A month later, couldn't believe it was the same tobacco. Then even smoke some with a couple of years on it and exceptional blend.

I find a lot of the more complex blends are like that. Something about cracking a tin and letting it sit for a while seems to open things up.

Trying it fresh is a good thing to do. It gives you a standard to compare against. After that if you try an aged tin it will mean more.

Popped 1 of the tins I received today. Interesting tobacco, I will go back to it from time to time and cellar away the other's for a few years. ?

For those not familiar with this particular blend, it seems to be Virginia based, with dark-fired Kentucky and black Cavendish. SP rates the taste at four dots and the strength at three. Apparently the Virginia benefits from some age.
