The Country Gentleman is hard to beat. My yard cobs are 5th Avenue Diplomats and those things can take a beating.

When I first noticed that there were corn cob pipes selling for $30+, I couldn't believe that people would pay that much -- not that I'm judging! What you get for that money is generally some combination of a hardwood plug in the bowl, an acrylic stem, a more labor-intensive bowl shaping/finish, and/or a really limited run of something. A bottom-of-the-line MM will last a really long time given a little care. My first MM Legend has gone close to 25 years now.
The $30+ price difference is from the stem material. Buy a forever stem (about $18) for a low end cob and you hit the $30 price point.
Back on 2015, the reverse calabash was $50. The price carried over to the 2018 version. When you get into artisan cobs you're talking over $100.
The Country Gentleman is about $15 and is the cheapest and most popular large cob, wooden dowel, acrylic stem model.
The $5 Legends are great.

For my taste and capabilities. I like the Diplomat, General and Charles Towne Cobbler.
The Diplomat is a great pipe. I have put over 1000 bowls through these. The stems are the original Danish type and they have held up.
Just get them all!

I got an MM bent Washington with the Rob Roy shape on Friday. It's pretty cool.

I like Diplomat and Country Gentleman for their chamber size and the overall heftiness.
I like the Rob Roy bowl on the Let Freedom Ring, and am partial to the bent pipes as the straights don’t fit in my usual pipe pouch I keep in my lunchbox.

Country Gentlemans are my favorite followed by Diplomats and Twains.
Everything in the Cobbit line is quite good too.
But honestly, none of them are bad.
