Thank you...this helps me decideI like the legend as its simple and no frills. Having said that my most smoked cob is my elf Cobbit,
Legend is my favorite too!Thank you...this helps me decide
The one you find that smokes well, gives satisfaction. I suppose one that provides a good smoking experience while fitting your fist and pleasing your eye.Which is the best, overall corn cob pipe from MM?
The main functional differences between the different cobs on the standard line are bowl chamber size, whether the pipe can or can't accept a filter, and whether it has a hardwood plug or not, and whether it's bent or straight. It's pretty much just preference. I'd agree that the Legend/Washington is a good starting point.
That's the main deciding factor for me, as well. I prefer smaller bowls.I decide on chamber size, other aspects are design, they smoke more or less the same.
This. Buy the one that has the chamber size you like and that looks good to you.The main functional differences between the different cobs on the standard line are bowl chamber size, whether the pipe can or can't accept a filter, and whether it has a hardwood plug or not, and whether it's bent or straight. Good to know...I wasn't certain if a $5 corn cob had the same endurance quality of a $30+ corn cob. There is no such thing as "best corncob",since it is all subjective. What works for you???? I have Country Gents, Mark Twains, Diplomats, Boones, Washingtons, Patriots, and Generals - two of each - and a Cobbit dwarf.I smoke them all.
A cob with a hardwood plug might last longer, particularly if you smoke it heavily. The ones without plugs are fine as long as you avoid poking through the bottom of the bowl and they're allowed dry time after smoking. They can sometimes get a little soggy on the bottom-center from the moisture.Good to know...I wasn't certain if a $5 corn cob had the same endurance quality of a $30+ corn cob.
