Ok time for a controversial opinion... I really don't like Savinelli as a brand....
Their low grade pipes are shit and overpriced ( Rossi are great because of the lower price) bit that's not why I don't like the brand... It's the high grades that are the biggest offenders - i have seen so many 180$+ pipes with crazy amount of fills; from the over 10 straight grain stamped pipes I have restored only two had a grain that remotely resembled a straight grain... Even their highest grade Giubileo, which is a 1000$ pipe, was at best comparable to the Charatan's Belvedere grade, but with a golden ring and an atrocious stem and a non existent button...
This being said, i was blown away by the Autograph pipe i am restoring right now and especially by the amount of thought which was put into it...
We have a nice straight grain on the sides...

...a beautifully blended sandblasted area on the front, revealing a gorgeous ring grain...
... And bird's eye on the rim.
And finally i love it when brands don't completely flatten the service, so you can see a relief of the ring grain peak from underneath the straight grain, just gorgeous!
