I am not sure what the OP is asking, nor what many of the posts have to do with what the OP is asking. But... in response to...
Something I have noticed since being on here, is that there are certain personalities that don't "get" or understand hyperbole in humor or irony. Many are the engineering types, but many are just "on spectrum" if I had to guess... which may encompass the engineers, ha ha. OK ok, enough of that speculation.
If I said, "Out of the five pounds of tobacco I smoke in a week"... if your first response is
no one smokes five pounds in a week... then there's something wrong with you, and you're not going to "get" the joke that will proceed. I don't think that there is a cure or medication for it. My heart breaks for these people. Usually the only humor these types get is humor that puts someone else down. It's very sad to me.
I would probably suggest that if you read something you think is ludicrous, then maybe just skip it. I wouldn't want to be that guy debating whether or not chickens really cross roads, or why say "knock knock" when there's a damn doorbell? It's probably just best to ignore it, and let everyone else just laugh.
Now, this is all because of the OP. But, if I take the logical road some of you have taken... when you come to a fork in the road, take it.
