Went the Chemex route several years ago and changed my appreciation for coffee. Have some single use pourover contraptions as well. Love good coffee and trying different roasts/grinds/etc. The wife likes her mocha (no whipped cream) so I bought an inexpensive espresso machine a year ago, nothing fancy, and I'm happy to make her (and myself) some double shot mochas on the weekends. It's not too precise for dialing in espresso but close enough and cappuccino is pretty good. Overall though, it's coffee every weekday - kind of like Michaleen Oge Flynn in The Quiet Man - when I drink coffee I drink coffee and when I drink cocoa I drink cocoa.

Have yet to mix my coffee and pipe - pretty sure some frosty morning I will, but pipe is mostly an afternoon or evening thing for now.

Coffee. Love/hate relationship with that liquid death for most of my life. Early on, I couldn't drink it. Oh how I loved the aroma of that hot cup of dark secret, but my acid reflux refused to allow the pleasure. Then in 2011, I was out in the wood for scout training. They had most awful cup of black petrol from gods know where. But, it was bitterly cold morning, and that warm liquid looked very tempting. It was awful. Bitter and grainy. No amount of sugar nor non-dairy powder cream substitute would make it better. But it was warm. And I didn't feel acid climbing up my throat. My wife on the other hand has been drinking coffee forever. Usually four, five could a day black. She prefers French roast and can let me know which place has better cup that they. Now I'll, on occasions, have a cup in the morning with ton of Splenda and cream. It's comforting to have that warmth in the morning.

Dunkin whole bean. Grind it and auto drip into stainless pot so it doesn't burn. A few 'foo foo' beans I prefer slightly more but for the price/quality level, I haven't been able to beat Dunkin. Two 8 cup pots a day and I always have black coffee with my pipe.

I've been on dark roast for 5 years or more, but right now I find little joy in the cappuccinos I make, and thinking I need to hit the press pot with some light and medium roasts perhaps. Black or with milk and sugar.

I am hoping this is just a temporary dullness due to some medical procedures in the last year or so.

Burley is my Dark Roast.

Strong Coffee and Burley. Like Hooser said, “Best hour of the day”

MSO mentioned Percolating coffee. I can hear that wonderful sound. It’s the smell of morning. — I’m gonna dig one up!

Like the article read, I know what I like. Give me my few fav burley blends and any robust coffee. Pure heaven!

Turkish coffee or espresso, medium to dark roast, 3-4 cups a day, every day without fail. I buy my coffee from Porto Rico Importing Co, a coffee merchant in NYC.
I drink Peter's Blend and have so daily, for decades. Buy 15-20 pounds every six months during his Springtime and birthday sales. In the bean, and daily fresh grind, and brewed in a Technivorm. Paired with my morning pipe, all is right with the world!
