Well, it's done and on it's way. And it looks like I have one heck of a pipe on the way. I couldn't be happier...

Beautiful flame grain, which I love. Beautiful birdseye, which I also love. A beautiful dark red cumberland stem, which is my first cumberland. And a beautiful piece of spalted maple making a wonderful transition from shank to stem. All of this in my first ever commissioned pipe.
Will Crawford (Anderson is his middle name) was a treat to do business with. He seems like a great guy that truly enjoys doing what he's doing, taking the time to offer suggestions and ask my opinion and bring things to attention I might not have thought about... like stem measurements and such. He was more than willing to provide all these photos, and sometimes just chat it up about pipes and tobaccos. Instead of pacing back and forth and stressing about what might be going on with my pipe, his updates and photos kept me at ease. And he made the whole process quite fun. I would keep an eye on his name, because I think he's one that will go far.
Now the hard part is waiting for this beauty of a pipe to arrive in the mail.
