Most of what you see in that pic is from the sanding and filing. You may notice that the pipe looks black in places. That's because of I don't have a proper sanding wheel, so I'm improvising with my grinding wheel and dremel, as well as hand sanding.

I have one other pre-drilled block and a completely non-drilled block. As of right now, making them for myself. Not sure if they'll be marketable being my first carvings.

Not really. Haven't talked with the briar blocks yet to see what they want to become, lol. I have a couple of ideas, but nothing set in stone enough to really say.

Woohoo! Finally more time on the new pipe. Being that it was a pre-drilled block, it came with a stem more suited for a freehand/freeform pipe. I replaced it with an acrylic straight stem, started honing the shank and tried to work on the symmetry a little. At this point I think I'll start working the rest by hand files.
