You might like it better after cleaning the surface dirt away. (Water and a cloth).
Next time I will take the picture after a clean. The cleans need to be timed, as this is a pipe I have been smoking exclusively
Wow was a coloring bowl used on this one? Also what kind of tobaccos do you smoke in yours? I usually smoke Pegasus/sir Walter Raleigh in my one meer and it’s barely showing any color after probably between 80-100 smokes. The tobaccos are obviously dry and not super oily so I’m assuming that’s why I’m not getting much color.
No … I am not using a coloring bowl.
Since I am smoking this pipe exclusively, I smoke all types of tobacco

After discussion with @jpmcwjr I gave the pipe a deep water clean. While it was not required, I also teamed it lightly for good measure.
I have fantastic sun today, so I took it outside in the backyard to photograph.

1. Exposure Reading from the white sheet of paper
2. Since I took it from a distance, the images are highly cropped
3. No edits except crop
4. Sunlight is making the colors pop and this is almost true color I see with the naked eye

This is not a standardized photo of the color of the pipe after white balance. Rather I wanted to also conduct the experiment @jpmcwjr suggested - Whether a meerschaum pipe gains weight

I believe the weight gain should not be significant (maybe 1 gram after every 100-200 smokes) - however we can test this out

The first reading today was 52 grams after 120 smokes. I will weigh it regularly to see how it progresses.

This pipe was listed in the Altinay site at 46.5 grams … however my scales are not calibrated against Altinay’s scales, I don’t know whether he weighed only the stummel (I weighed the stummel along with the stem)

So another extremely long experiment starts

Unless my monitor is way out of calibration, there's a noticeable blue/purple tint to the back ground. I messed around with tint and temperature, got a lot of it out, but not enough.

This was taken in full sun outdoors, with the exposure reading from the paper. I have not done any post processing.
The background is a printer paper (Letter) bought in bulk from BJs a few years ago.
The camera is of course an iPhone. I have not used a DSLR for many years now.

I see the bluish tint … interestingly the bluish tint was there when I took the photo. I compared the photo to the set up … but there was grass which I cropped out, which may have caused it. In diffused sunlight the paper looks whiter.

I am planning to photograph it again this week. I don’t want to use the DSLR so it will be iPhone again. If I still get a tint, the DSLR would come out the following week.

I suppose you all might be interested in the 100+ year old meerschaum from hell that refuses to color. I have found that it is perfect for destroying the last batch of tasteless Ennerdale which if you add some Broken No:7 Flake to the mixture starts to taste like the Ennerdale of 2018. Anyway progress is slow but we are starting to slowly move down the shank but not exactly at light speed.

New update after 127 bowls smoked. Pipe was gently reamed, cleaned with cold water.

Taken outdoors in full sun. Exposure reading from white sheet. No edits except cropped slightly. The blue cast as jpmcjwr mentioned is still there - Looks like it is a problem with the iPhone software. This should not impact the photo, as the pipe coloring is warm tones.
