I have smoked it about 560 times. However there is almost no progression in coloring lately

It rarely shows up in WAYS, because I smoke it daily. Kind of the novelty is not there
Ok, a long overdue update.
Despite the fact I have been smoking it diligently the coloring has slowed. Last photo posted were at 409 bowls. Now I have smoked 571 bowls and does not look much different.
The weight has actually gone down slightly to 50 g.

Have you tried waxing it? Might be able to draw out some of the colors or at least make them pop a bit aesthetically
I tried it once on this pipe. Not happy with the results, so I have not bothered with wax any more.
I have tried wax in other meerschaum pipe with good effects
Fascinating. I wonder if the coloring has plateaued or if it'll undergo more punctuated changes on further smoking.
Although the coloring has slowed or may have plateaued it has taken on a lot of color and it is looking great in my opinion
It has definitely plateaued, but it it still undergoing gradual changes. I plan to keep this experiment going on )Looks like a few years at this rate, to see where it ends

The pipe looks great. Very nice coloring indeed. You say the coloring has slowed, but one day you'll see it has colored more and the current colors will be darker, as if it appeared overnight, and you'll be glad you kept smoking it on a regular basis.
Meerschaum is a weird material as if you go long periods of not smoking it the pipe will lose color; however, once you smoke it again a lot of the color will come back. Those color will continue to get darker and other areas will eventually fill in. Though it may take many more years to get there it will eventually get there. Happy smoking.

I plan to keep smoking this. I try to smoke this one everyday.
I think I like the marks and scratches more than the coloring itself!
The good news with a Meer is they smoke fantastic. The coloring thing is a side benefit.
Starting to get frustrated with my altinay. I am about 60 bowls in and there is little to no coloring except for finger staining and a slight pink in the crest between the bowl and the shank. Now sure how to get this thing to color or if it is simply the meerschaum saying, "this is all I got chief"
