Broke down today and ordered another TAD relief prescription from the 4Noggins Pharmacy.

This one is all of the Codger Variety

2 Tubs PA

1 Tub CH

1 Tub Walnut

and finally pulled the trigger on a tub of Granger.

I have never smoked Granger but from what I read I will hopefully enjoy it.

Nice order Kent, I have a 2oz sample of Granger from Rich and I have to say I'm really enjoying it, more so than Sugar Barrel and EGR. Happy puffing sir!

No Sugar Barrel?! Just kidding... I've never tried Granger either, but Walnut is a favorite. Looks like you've got a great haul. Happy smoking!

For the last week or so, instead of packing a pouch of my daily smoke, I brought a mason jar of Prince Albert to work, and left it there so all I have to grab in the morning is my pipe. I've been smoking a flake each morning of one of my goto's, then smoking Prince Albert all day long, then back to flakes at night.
I have to say, I find Prince Albert very satisfying, and very, very nice tasting. I really like the topping, and the nicotine is just right for smoking all day long. I actually prefer it to Carter Hall. Carter Hall is good, but Prince Albert has a molasses sweetness that I really like. Now, I'm just about all out, and will buy a tub, and I think this could be my new smoking routine. I like that I can pick up Prince Albert at any drugstore in town by the tub or the pouch.

Nice order. I was surprised there was no Sugar Barrel either but you took the plunge with Granger. I hope you post a review of it also. I've been meaning to pull the trigger on some, but never get around to it.
My tub of Walnut will be here in a few hours btw.

I have tried Sugar Barrel in the past and found it Ok but I prefer my CH & Walnut. The PA I order nearly every month is for a friend. I will report on Granger when I decide to pop the Tub and give it a shot.

Like you, O5, I ordered a tub of CH and Walnut from 4Noggins just last week. Great stuff. Been a long time since I tried Granger, but will give it a go soon, too.
I love PA. I mix it with other things to straighten them out a bit if they get a little too bitey or sweet.
I had a friend who smoked Bugler like it was the only tobacco in the store. I could never smoke it, but he didn't seem to mind. He had a pipe in his mouth most of his waking moments and it was filled with Bugler.

I tried some Granger a couple of years ago - even commented on it here. It's OK - just sorta there - the sort of tobacco you stuff in your pipe and don't pay any attention to afterwards.

I always thought Walnut the best of the codger burleys, with Prince Al Choice number 2. I tried a ton of 'em, but none of 'em stayed in my rotation. I think the Hearth and Home burleys are much better, and not that much more expensive at about $38 a pound. Try Beverwyck or Old Companion.

Jud, the H&H blends will be cheaper in Dec. with their 20% sale. It's a good time try their burleys (not to mention other blends).

Got my order yesterday, Rich tossed in a sample of Trout Stream which I smoked a bowl of on the way to work last night, DeeLish.

Tested out a bowl of Granger this morning and found that pretty darn good too!!

My recent codger order from P&C was much smaller...

2 pouches each of Prince Albert, Half and Half, and Sir Walter Raleigh.

I forgot to include Captain Black in the order, but it's on my wishlist now.

Carter Hall has already been in my rotation for a while.
I like H&H. The pouches are sealed up tight, no reason to transfer the second pouch to a jar. I've smoked two small bowls and both were satisfying with just a couple relights...good flavor.
SWR was dry out of the pouch and dry to my throat, too. Dry as it was, I still had a hard time keeping it lit.
I put some PA in a tray to dry out last night, but this morning it still retains some moistness...how's that possible? Smells good, smoked fine, tasted good.
