I gave up cobs unless completely made by someone other than MM.
Haven’t tossed it yet, not sure what I’m gonna do with it, If I get ambitious one day I might replace the shank and see how much longer it can go.
Experiment with it. Replace the shank with some bamboo or a briar shank from an old broken ebay pipe, stain it a different color and BAM you got something "different but same same but different but still same" (James Franko the Interview)

Great idea! It beats the hose clamp..because you would need to buy a screwdriver and together it would cost more than the original price of a cob so not worth it..
