It was just bad tobacco, both the GW 2013 and SWR, Cob is all good now.

I mistakenly bought a tin of one if these for $25. Smoked it a couple times as is, marginally enjoyable but won't revisit it.

No big tins for me, unless it’s recent tobacco, of which I just purchased a few weeks ago, thinking I was getting Sillem’s Black, turns out it’s John Aylesbury Black, but this stuff is awesome!

Sometimes your palate or some "something" throws you a curve, on any given day. If the tobacco smelled good in the jar, it should have tasted good in the pipe. You could keep smoking the cob ands see if you get to good. I'd leave the tobacco alone for awhile and return to it after a month or two.
