Maybe you just need to try some other styles. I look ridiculous in a cowboy hat, but get compliments on pork pie hats and flat caps.

But honestly most people put on a cowboy hat and it looks like they're cosplaying and going one step less silly then wearing a pointy hat with stars. Also I might be biased because I live in PA and the guys that wear cowboy hats here seem to not realize that they are in fact not cowboys and that listening to certain music is not all it takes.

Off original topic, but I've always been into hats myself. My new favorite maker for casual/outdoor hats is Stormy Kromer. All my formal hats are Christy's of London.

I guess some do wear brimmed hats and smoke pipes because they think it makes them look good.
Others like to keep the sun off their heads and enjoy the taste of Lakatia....lol!!

honestly it worked really great until a dog tried to eat it. In fact I had that before hipsters got into them. So basically I think that dog might have been clairvoyant.

I think the connections between fedoras, dog-eaten or of dog born, handmade Polish Sterkowski caps, baseball hats, 27 y/o leather hats, cowboy hats, etc., have never really been clear.

To that end, among those who would wear hats they are worn.
A subset of this class are those who would ware hats but who are prevented from doing so by their perception of looking like a dork. But one's own estimation in this matter will never be that of others, and it is they that matter. You might reconsider.

The hat type tells us about the hat wearer, but we lack the appropriate detail. I would conclude this penetrating analysis with a call for volunteers to be interviewed to establish just this conclusion.
