Yes, that’s how much a fricken paid for it when it first came out. I thought it would be gone in hours... not years.
?
Damn man that stings a little.
I'm surprised they didn’t lower the price gradually. They kept it at 19.99 until today. Not a great strategy as I’m sure within the past year they could have sold some at $14.99 and called it a sale. Shit I might have bought one, but not for $20.

I’m quite curious to try it. I was blown away by a tin of Acadian VaPer that @logs sent me and sad to see it was no longer offered. Figured for the price / discount I’d grab a bunch lest I regret it.

I believe it was $19.99 because I waffled about trying it a few times but didn’t... figuring I could get a lot more tobacco for that money.
It's always interesting how people's tastes vary.I smoked the Va/Per and thought it a complete failure. The Perique and the Perique processed Canadian Virginia just didn't marry up for me. The flavors were too close to harmonize and just off enough to be dissonant in a thoroughly unpleasant way.

Of all those releases of RO blends that came out at that time, my favorite was the RO Perique Series. Of those four distinctive Va/Per blends my favorite by far was GP-11. Evidently others felt the same, since it was the first to run out about a year+ ago. I bought over 30 tins of it and my only regret is that I didn't buy another 30 tins of it.

I’m going to use the Acadian Gold to blend with. I’m Looking forward to mixing some Semoise with it!

But I will agree that it probably was a total failure (a very acquired taste) which is why 4 years after its release we are seeing a huge discount on the prices. Obviously there are some people who love it though, I always seem to fall on the side of loving it on these polarizing blends.
