Every day, my in box seldom has more that a dozen emails in it. Most of those are shipping or billing notices. Eventually all emails are either archived or deleted. I archive a lot of stuff, storage is cheap and there's been a couple of occasions where I needed to lay hands on a email from year or more ago. My archive folder is unstructured, the search function is very good at quickly finding the stuff I'm looking for. I clean out the spam/junk folder every couple of months.

Do you clean your email? This morning I deleted 432 old Facebook emails some going back as far as 1999. I never even played Facebook so I am surprised to find these emails.
Oh- are those notifications similar to "you have mail", but referring to posts in FB?
I must have a "few" as I frequently get one notifying me of a "message" from someone unimportant.

Yes, you know "Joe Krantz Has Updated his status: I'm getting divorced!" (month later) ""Joe Krantz Has Updated his status: I have a a 23yo GF!" (two weeks later) "Joe Krantz Has Updated his status: I'm homeless!"

Well I have two mailaccounts. Paid subscription for ProtonMail, that I use for the more delicate information, such as communication from the insurance company, government, my bank, and so on. And then there is als a paid subscription for iCloud, that I use for all the other stuff basically. I keep my inboxes tidy.

I recently opened a ProtonMail account. All my emails there are from ProtonMail.

While I've kept my email program's Preferences set to delete-from-the-server all incoming emails after a week since they were downloaded to my computer, and outgoing emails after a month from being sent, I've just recently discovered that those deletions have not been happening at the server.

Now, I've got some 96,000+ emails to manually delete from the cumbersome email interface provided by Spectrum Internet. Then I have to check and delete same from the other 4 accounts (2 mine, 2 hers).

Daily emails once a week, I set up my email to forward "unwanted" emails straight to spam folder so I can just clean out one folder. This saves time, other emails I set as "blocked" to avoid seeing those in my folder again.
My work email same but archive and print out the important ones! Always good to have a paper trail at work.
