@anotherbob I've lost count of how many clays I've broken but the good news is I haven't broken any since Nantwich:) My first clay was over 100 years old but it only lasted me about 2 weeks:-(
I've had clays survive things that seemed unpossible and break over nothing. If I could still get them locally it would be one thing (the price evens out) but something about ordering something and then wondering when it's going to break just feels wrong. I've already had one break before getting to smoke it.

Well considering the main road here has the most fatalities per kilometre in all NZ, then yeah, unfortunately I guess it is.

(Way to kill the party vibe ahi)
@Ahi Ka Dad and I have been watching the Australian / New Zealand traffic police documentaries on satellite TV here in the UK so I researched your country's traffic laws and comparing police fines using the currency converter...
Going to get some twist for the big clay off; I'll be wearing the Redcoat when I take part. Need to find somewhere suitable; that's the hard bit:)

Wanted to do March madness but are also a cheap arse?

Wanted to do a meer for a year but like me have commitment issues?

Then get onboard the newest PAD craze which will no doubt fail to take off like 7oz codger cans of clan.

I bring you, Clay for a day!

Up your pipe game like the OG Walter Raleigh. Get your church on like a deacon. Load your bowl à la Frodo.

I don’t care how you do it. You could smoke a clay exclusively for a day. You could smoke a clay once a week/month/year/life. You could smoke a cob while mudding at your family reunion.

Or you could jump on this year’s claytona 500 and take on the clay king @halfdan himself.

NZ’s homegrown classy arse clay is coming for you bro.

But yeah, you get the picture. I like smoking clay pipes too. Who else does?

And in an effort to avoid another gold plated 5 pointed 3 star invasion, I thought this might be a cool thread to channel our enthusiasm, log our smoke times and focus our chatter on our teeth.

🤙🏼
@Ahi Ka I like smoking clay pipes as much as you:) I notice my face / hat / clay pipe on the knockout picture...

You’re a true red coat bro. Smoking your clay to the end.

Also. You probably like smoking your clays more than me, and that’s something I admire and one reason I thought it would be fun to do a smoke off
@Ahi Ka I'm rising to the challenge! Going to get some twist next week; how much do you think I'll need to buy for the clay off???
Practicing for clay pipe smoking competitions takes a LOT of pipe baccy:)

Loaded up a practice bowl tonight. Going to experiment with some different packing techniques. This time I made a wad to sit at the bottom of the chamber. Gravity fed some finely cut shag mixed with some coarser bits for the rest of the bowl. And snuck a thin coin in the middle. Good flavour but struggling to keep lit. A gram is too much tobacco for my chamber size

But the real question is....are you wearing a red coat?

@Ahi Ka It's important not to overfill the pipe as the tobacco expands when you light it!
