In the YouTube pipe smoking community (which I am apart of), there exists a user named JoffreTheGiant who, along with a friend, created a blend called "chocolate manhood." He pitched the idea to his tobacconist in the Spartanburg, SC area, and they picked it up. Unless you want to call up Boda Pipes in Spartanburg and order from the shop, you can't get this blend.
However, I had smoked some of the real stuff from Spartanburg, and was able to recreate it very simply!
The mixture calls for 1 part straight latakia, 2 parts black cavendish (perhaps vanilla or chocolate flavored).
I made a trip to my local tobacconist and had some mixed using what I believe was McClelland's blending latakia, and a black cav aro called "Dark chocolate."
IT. IS. WONDERFUL: the dominant taste is a dry, sweet coco/chocolate/espresso with a smoky overtone taste that is absolutely lovely. It smokes well, thanks to the latakia. It has quickly turned into a "go-to" for me, and the best part is the price: around $7 for my three ounces (typical B&M bulk prices).
I highly recommend trying this blend, especially if you like aromatics (guess this would be an arominglish), and even if you like latakia mixtures as well. I definitely think that the next direction of aro mixtures are in this new breed of latakia infused aros (such as Sillem's black).
Enjoy,
Cheers!
