Between the Heart of Alabama and Hot Springs NC
like having windows tinted too dark.
I see cops all the time on the side of the road pulling people's tint off their windows. Out of State, in State... they don't care. While at the beach a couple of weeks ago, I saw them pealing tint off of a car with Michigan tags. Just the front windows.

You probably won't be bothered on the interstate, because our State Troopers are the biggest losers on the planet, and I've only seen them on there, like maybe twice in the last year... but local cops... Barnie Fife will get you. And, I am not sure if they ticket you, but I do see all the time, they just peel that shit off right there on the side of the road.

Glad some state is enforcing the law.

I think the worst of car headlights are not stock but retrofitted from the auto parts from hell. Your best chance is to shift your eyes to the painted line on the side of the road, if there is one, not fixedly but as a reference point. If every set of headlights blinds you, it could be cataracts, which can be fixed. They give even streetlights a halo or twinkle effect. After a certain age, depending on how you age, and how realistic you are about how you age, driving at night is less and less advisable, as brad said. Equally, be super careful as a pedestrian at night, wear bright safety clothes, and a strobe light if you have one. People don't see you very well, and you can't see every one. Remember the emerging hazard of the silent electric car; you can't hear them coming around a curve. Good for enforcement on the tinted windows. Partly they conceal who and what are in a car, but equally important, when you are maneuvering at an intersection or in passing, you can't see through the other car windows at traffic -- very dangerous.

Is there any pretense of a function to the Carolina squat pick up trucks, or is it entirely wanting to be looked at or scowled at?
See it all has to do with incontinence. Say you're driving and , um, have an issue. Well you don't want all that sloshing around by your feet while you're driving. With your truck tilted to the rear, everything runs to the back-problem solved! The Carolina squat, your truck squats so you don't have to!

I made a 600 km trip with my sister-in-law's car, my wife, and my sister-in-law as co-pilot. I was driving at night, and I could hardly see the road. My sister-in-law said that besides being deaf, I couldn't see three people on a donkey. But the problem was that the headlights were so burned out that no light passed through them. He never got around to polishing those headlights. And my sister-in-law said she couldn't see three guys riding on a donkey. Damn, and I almost thought I didn't see three guys on a donkey. Fuck, for a moment I thought he was an asshole.

1. I have heard about adaptive matrix headlights which can dim at the line of sight of an oncoming driver while focusing/brightening up the rest of the field of view. It is not legal in US it seems, but efforts are underway to legalize it in US. Of course, it would
be a few years even after legalization when a significant number of cars have these adaptive lights
2. Many lights are not focused properly- Specially the aftermarket ones or in old cars
3. A lot of people does not dim the brights when there is oncoming traffic or a car in front. Simple adaptive high beams found in many modern cars can help

There may be a degree of extra blinding brightness from current vehicle light bulbs, but from my experience the gradual onset of cataracts was a real bastard to deal with relative to vehicle lights. My cataract condition gradually developed over 20 or more years and my difficulty dealing with bright headlights just exponentially grew worse over that time. Just before surgery, I frequently had to slow down to 20 MPH and try to hug the shoulder side of the road when I encountered bight light vehicles. Most eye doctors used to recommend waiting until your cataracts are ripe (relatively advance stage of development) before having the surgery. It used to be more difficult to extract the lens until the cataracts were ripe. With modern advances, the lens can be removed at any stage of development now. I chose to wait as long as I could since the replacement lens technology has being really improving over time. I had cataract surgery 2 years ago in this past Sept/Oct. There were so many lens choices available then that there was a bit of difficulty deciding which combo might work best for me. Besides returning my vision to 20/20 without the need for eye glasses, my next favorite benefit of the surgery is that I haven't had a single issue with blinding headlights since I had my surgery.

I've have the cataract surgery on both eyes over the last couple of months.. All I can say is holy shit.. After they had done the first one everything was so much brighter and whiter. The undone eye compared looked yellow and dull. Now both at 20/20 and cheaters for reading. No ring around headlights or streetlights.

I'm pretty certain that the guy who first decided to put LED headlights on a car is a complete and total ass hole. They should be illegal.
I come home from work around 3am and most new cars will blind you to the point that you see spots the rest of the drive home. A real PIA.
