Down South (Bama down), we saw a fair number morons driving these "Carolina Squat" trucks. Fortunately, they must be a nightmare on the interstate, so I can't say we encountered any there.

That right there is special. Let's say we were playing that game where you look at a picture and blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. My word for that picture would have been landmine.

At least you have a word. I'm basically speechless. I also feel perilously close to having an aneurysm.

Some years ago, when driving home one night, an approaching car came my way with super bright headlights which blinded me for about 2 seconds. My eyesight recovered just in time for me to swerve to avoid two pedestrians walking on my side of the road which had no pavement/sidewalk as it was a small country lane.

The fact that I could have killed/seriously maimed two folks frighted me so much I never drove at night again!

Regards,

Jay.

The vehicle makers probably started using the strong bulbs to counter the fact that they sell cheap plastic lenses that cloud up from road abrasion. When I attempted to purchase new ones, the dealer advised that they only came with a complete assembly requiring removal of fender costing mucho bucks. Now I must use my tooth brush and paste to temp. clean same.

The dis-colour due to UV rays.

I use a Mothers Headlight Restoration kit to 'decloud' headlights. No sense replacing a headlight assembly because the lens is cloudy.

As a runner I got used to running toward oncoming traiffic. A month ago a person with dark clothing in rainy conditions barely caught my eye.

I'm with those who hate the raised pick-ups enough to where their headlights are aimed right into the windshield of oncoming vehicles. That and people who just drive with their bright lights on.

This is just another law that is never enforced like having windows tinted too dark.

There are times when I do what my neurologist and ophthalmologist suggested - wear my sunglasses when driving on the interstate at night.
