A delicious all Virginia flake comparable with lots of other Virginia flakes.

If you want Capstan, the gold can contains the best tasting pure Virginia imaginable.

The blue Capstan is more pipey, heavier, and in my opinion the gold Capstan is better, than the blue.

The blue Capstan is like the beautiful older sister, all the boys chase after until her younger sister walks into the room.

If I’d not tried the gold first, I’d be gushing about the blue.

It’s excellent tobacco, in its own right.

I wanted to like it better because Tolkien smoked it, it was the original, and as a rule a Budweiser will always be better than a Bud Light.

But I calls ‘em as I sees ‘em’.

You might like the heavier version, and it surely does look nice, you know?

If the Gold didn’t taste like Player’s Medium Cut, and I’d never tried it, I’d rave about the blue.

I love the Blue. It's in my top 10, at the very least -- maybe top 5, but I'd have to think about it.
I've yet to try the Gold, but now you have me very keen to try it!

I'm too cheap to buy those capstan blends. Bought a tin of blue flake a long while back and i remember enjoying it, so I'll have to revisit soon. Smoking a leftover 3 day old bowl of Full Virginia flake, and I just can't get over how tasty it is. Virginias are the best!

I purchased pounds of Capstan Blue and fo not regret one gram of those wonderful flakes.

It’s in my top 5.

Here’s my top five of currently available

1. Capstan Blue
2. Hamborger Veermaster
3. John Aylesbury Luxury Flake
4. Sutliff VA Slices (with 6 years age minimum)
5. PS Luxury Navy Flake
6. SG Full Virginia Flake.

Those are in no particular order.

My all time favorite is Klondike Gold. Luckily I have enough to see me through. I even have .45 ACP Golden Saber in the bottom of my last jar. Lol.

I'm a big fan of both but I think the blue is the better of the two.

I find the flavoring on the gold makes it a bit more approachable and easy going while the blue is a bit more contemplative with a more bold and savory flavor.

Both have abundant sweetness which I really enjoy.

I tried a gold tin, but really found nothing interesting about it. I didn’t finish the tin.

Blue is definitely in my top 5. I've not tried the yellow yet, but I have an unopened tin downstairs that is on deck. I've only met a couple of straight virginia's that I didn't like.

I love the blue - fold & stuff - wonderful Virginia taste. But yes, it is a tad expensive, say versus Orlik. But it's funny, I've never even thought about trying the yellow - til now! You've all just put it on the radar.

They are fantastic. Sometimes I say blue, and sometimes I say gold. Damn, now I like the gold better. hahahahahahahahaha. Well, seriously, I think it depends on the timing of when you smoke it. Especially when the cold comes to my city, maybe the cold gives it a perfect damp touch.

Both are really good and obvious why they are generational blends. My nod goes to Gold and I like the ready rubbed as well as the flake.
