Here in Wisconsin, the air quality is considered hazardous. There's an air quality scale I learned about yesterday 0-400. 400 being the worst, the city of Waukesha that I was in, was at a 328 yesterday. And I can feel it too. It can be hard to breathe at times. They are telling people not to go outside unless absolutely necessary. I've heard talk about wearing masks too.

Unreal.

I feel for those suffering this. We had smoke from the Canadian fire for 3 days a few weeks ago. But apparently all of middle America has dark skies with high particle counts. Is that fire still burning?! I am grateful to be outside the perimeter of the bad air at the moment. No fun for us who like to run and bike daily.

Today will be Lane 1-Q in the unmarked cellini hungarian after reading another thread. Monday and Tuesday I had two eastern cottontails in the backyard trimming the clover and wild strawberries. This morning there were three. I'm starting to see a pattern here. They are like pipes,

We have an air quality alert here in Maryland today. It’s pretty gray out and a little chilly. Guess I’m not going to go swimming today.

The bad air days extended at least as far as here in central North Carolina. I felt it with an occasional cough and some watery eyes and air quality warnings that had me mostly stay inside. I try to catch a walk most days, and I run errands without much outdoor time. We had a couple days when the sky turned sick orange, not like New York, but not normal looking.

I've alway enjoyed the fresh crisp air in Canada, so the wildfires up there make me feel badly for us all.

I feel sorry for the wildlife that can't escape it.

Man, I'm glad that a mainstream, respectable publication is covering this. Sea level changes are more effected by flushing your toilet that any kind of climate shift.

Makes me wonder - all the people that eschew pipe smoking to save their lungs, all that trouble of avoiding second hand smoke, even eating only plants and all that; in the end this air comes along and destroys all that effort. No one gets out of this life alive. I'd rather die smiling.

And while we're on the subject - people say no one puts on their tombstone "I wish I worked more", and yet no one puts on their tombstone, "I wish I died with less money".

I think maybe a several weeks ago Connecticut was in the thick of it. Nothing like stepping outside smelling camp fire and Latakia. No really there's nothing like it.

Anyway...best wishes to all those adversely affected by the wildfire smoke.
