Was St. Bruno twist topped with the same sauce or was it entirely different? Man I would have loved to try that stuff!I will smoke the stuff at a pinch. If they made St Bruno Twist again I would go 'all in' on that stuff.

I can’t say. I never tried the flake. @jiminks reviewed both on TR, and seemed to think they were extremely similar. ?I recently passed up some 1980s St. Bruno because Jim Inks says the new stuff is very similar. I should grab a tin and see how it is.
I bought some of the ODF ready rubbed bulk and didn’t like it. I really liked the ODF flake, though. Is it just me?
Here is what I wrote about the older version when I added an update:I recently passed up some 1980s St. Bruno because Jim Inks says the new stuff is very similar. I should grab a tin and see how it is.

If you could have picked up that tin of '80's St Bruno for a couple of dollars, it might have been worth spending the money. More than that's it's a rip off. Generally, St Bruno doesn't do well in those Ogden tins. The sauce fades a lot, the inner tin corrodes, the majority have gone to shit in the tins. If you're lucky, you'll get a sense of the Virginia blend underneath the sauce, which is different from the Mac Baren, though not by a whole lot. Overall, the Mac Baren product is OK, though I think they're being a little chintzy on the sauce. I'm certainly happy to have it around.I recently passed up some 1980s St. Bruno because Jim Inks says the new stuff is very similar. I should grab a tin and see how it is.

Well, I hope that your '80's tin is the exception, though the topping will have faded. Whenever I see these listed for sale it's a P. T. Barnum moment for me.I have an 1980s tin on the way, I couldn’t resist to add it to the line up. I have a 2003-2006 version stored away (in the plastic packet with the foil tear away top) as well but otherwise only one each of the current flake and RR.
