I’d probably buy it and live cheaper in other ways to offset it. If you’re newish, this is a good way to jump right in. You’d probably be helping the guy free up some space where he could store more-useful items. Maybe try to barter a bit but don’t throw out a lowball number that will offend either. Also, is it really a big expense, or just an untimely but manageable one? I guess if it’s a huge collection it could be a large enough expense to deter me but otherwise I’d go for it.

I would buy it. Especially if it's all tins. You'll probably quadruple your money after you've kept all the tins you want. Me, I'd probably keep it all. Ethics wise? You might want to pay more than your neighbour asks, as they see it as old tobacco that's worthless, so it may cause friction in the future if you get it for a ridiculously cheap amount then they find out after tobacco is like wine or scotch. It gets better with age. If it's a ridiculous amount of tobacco and it's cheap, offer 500 more than asking. I would say 8-9$ a 50 gram tin is fair for buying them all. If you want to sell them you'll be getting 20 each in a flash. You could get 35-50 each for dunhill from 2014, it's all up to you

I bought a bunch of aged jars this winter at a fair price, I’m quite happy with, I inspected the contents and knew the blends. It’s a good way to get lots of good tobacco.

Usually the seller is a non-smoker or quit smoking , so just wants to unload the lot at a fair price. But inspect the tins for rust, a little is fine, google the titles, know a bit before. Make an offer is if you feel the price is too high.

What is the average price for the discontinued blends?

What about those 2 big boxes and those stonhaven and peneance bags?

Is there any website which shows the discontinued tins prices?

How long it takes for one beginner to smoke all these? I mean for how long I don't need to buy new blends?

Appreciate any help here! Thanks

You're looking at a conservative $1500 dollars. You'll be smoking that for a long time.
