Occam’s Razor:
Seller doesn’t know what they have and just wants it gone.
OP searches “pipe tobacco information” and gets this forum.
OP proceeds to make an account purely to ask a question for guidance.
OP asks question, gets answer, makes decision and moves on with life.

The End
Let's play this game.

The OP creates an account on this forum. In their first thread, yesterday, they claim that they haven't smoked pipe in 30 years and are basically starting as a beginner. Asking very basic questions. Interestingly enough, all posts in that first thread are clearly written by a chat bot.

Now, today the OP claims a neighbor wants to sell them a bunch of unobtanium tobacco for cheap. Question: why would the neighbor even think of contacting the OP? If they hadn't smoked a pipe in 30 years like they say, what would give the neighbor an idea that the OP would be interested?

Great points.
I’m convinced.
It’s probably a scam.

I am very sorry fellows , it seems I bother you and your forum. I will close my account in few minutes and will not interrupt the friendly environment here any more.

But just for clearing the mud some folks throw to my face , this is what happened, I told josh Im not good on Internet social medium, he asked what for and I told him about how I want to go back to pipe smoking after 30 or so years and have joined 2 social medium on internet. this morning he called about his late father-in-low tobacco cans his wife told him about after hearing my story from him.
You guys know the rest of the story. I already told him the real value of those tins. I checked the sites you told to see the prices and now I knoe each tin is like 50 bucks so its like thousands of dollars total. Im not going to buy any as I can not afford 50 for a tin.

Regards

Fair enough, hopefully he sends you a tin to say thanks for the advice!

This is generally a friendly place, but a little wary of things that appear to good to be true...sorry if that meant you got face mud.
