Hello..? Pipe World. As you see from the title it's time for a new pipe ?. I want to talk about Brands of pipes. I know I know it's probably been discussed before but since I'm new to the pipe world I would like your guy's opinion. I have a few Savinelli's, A couple of Chacom's, Peterson and J.M.Boswell I have not smoke yet. So I want something different to try out. I got about $150 to spend on my next pipe. So these are the brands I'm considering 1.Vauen. 2. Stanwell 3. Briar Works. 4. Rattray's. Or brand you guys have in mind in that price range. Let me know thanks

Of your brands listed, I only have experience with Vauen. They make a nice solid pipe, you can't go wrong.

For my first few pipes, I took my wife (girlfriend at the time) along to help me pick one out. I was trying to get her involved in my new hobby, and I was letting her know that I valued her opinion. It helped, because in the beginnings I didn't really give a shit what the pipe looked like. And, it introduced her to the Briary where i was starting to spend a lot of time, so that she would know what sort of environment I was hanging out in.
She had some great advice for looks, since she had a degree in fashion and such. She let me know which ones she though were sexy, since she was going to have to be seen with me while I was smoking.
Maybe bring your significant other in on the fun. It's a great way to get them endeared to your new hobby.

I'll also add, that i don't stick to those criteria she gave me years ago with those first pipes, but I will remind her of them when she snarls a nose up at a new one.

So are you going to fill us in on which pipes are sexy? I could use some help here!

The reason I brought up cob is due to the fact that you named good quality pipes, and don’t seem to understand that you’re getting a shit ton of opinions

Pick a pipe that appeals to you.

An honest answer is get a Comoy or Sasieni Second brand and enjoy the Estate Brit Wood experience.

That’ll really send you in the right direction and down the rabbit hole of your dreams.

OR get yourself a vintage 1940’s American made pipe like an LHS Purex Superfine.
